About

Curious, analytical, and at home in the mountains.

I am interested in understanding landscapes through data, teaching difficult ideas clearly, and spending time in the environments that inspire both.

My background

I am based in Patan, Nepal, and am enrolled in the MSc in Mountain and Mountaineering Science at NATHM. My studies focus on mountain geography, natural hazards, hydrology, GIS, remote sensing, and Himalayan environments.

I also work as a freelance Mathematics and Physics tutor. I have taught A-Level students for several years and now also support IB learners. My teaching approach is patient, structured, and focused on building understanding through questions, worked examples, and purposeful practice.

Before returning to Nepal, I lived in Germany for several years. As a certified trekking guide, I also have practical experience of Nepal’s trails, mountain communities, and landscapes.

What shapes my work

Mountains as systems

I see mountains as connected systems of terrain, water, ice, vegetation, people, and hazards.

Evidence over assumptions

I value careful methods, transparent analysis, and distinguishing what data can show from what remains uncertain.

Teaching as translation

Good teaching means translating difficult ideas into steps, examples, and questions that make sense to the learner.
